Erasmus@School – Climate change project

“Participating in the Erasmus@School project has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my time in Padova. I truly loved the teaching and learning mechanism here, from making students aware of vocabulary related to climate change to culminating in creating videos on how we can protect our climate. It was inspiring to see how thoughtfully the learning process was designed and how engaged the students were throughout. Their energy and creativity gave me hope for a more climate-conscious future. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly. I’ll carry these memories with me wherever I go.”
Erasmus@School – Democracy and The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Le alunne e alunni della classe 3I hanno creato alcuni video riguardanti le attività didattiche incentrate su: What is Democracy? Democracy and Community e Human Rights: Treated as Equals? If you had to make a new right, what would it be? or Which right would you eliminate and why?
“I truly enjoyed getting the chance to work with Simonetta’s students during the past couple of months. Not only did they learn more words in English to express their ideas, but they also engaged in conversation about climate change, democracy, and human rights. I would say that I also learned a lot from the students in return, as they shared their own experiences and put so much creativity into their projects. This Erasmus@School experience was definitely a core part of my time studying abroad in Padova and I am so grateful to have been a part of it!”
“It has been an interesting experience taking part in this project and to follow a teacher in an Italian school. I have noticed key differences between the school systems in Sweden and Italy, such as the grading system, lesson planning, and classroom management. This has further expanded my idea of a teacher’s role in society and made me reflect on the kind of teacher I would like to be when I finish my studies. Additionally, it was fun to get to know the students and follow them in their journey of language learning.”
“I must admit that at first I was a bit nervous about doing this project as I did not know what to expect. However, as soon as I had my first class, all my doubts went away. I instantly saw how involved the students were in what I had to say and in the activities. Being around a teacher and helping the students is an experience that I never thought I’d get to live as it is very new but also very enriching, especially when I find myself taking a step back to be able to consider things from the students’ perspective. Despite their young age, whenever I speak with them they always try to answer in English even when it’s hard. The kids are now already familiar with my presence which is somehow reassuring, I feel proud for some reason. Thanks to the teacher, the atmosphere in class is very pleasant and the kids are willing to learn and listen to me whenever I share my opinion with them. I will forever cherish these moments that I got to share with the students of class 3l and the amazing teacher Simonetta Masin.”
